Clippers winning on the road
The Clippers will be playing their fifth consecutive road game tonight. They are 3-1 on the road trip thus far following a 122-117 win at Miami on Friday night. Los Angeles is 32-14 on the season, 13-10 on the road, 25-21 against the spread and 23-22-1 with the under.
Los Angeles has a great offense that is averaging 115.7 points per game while shooting 46.2 percent from the field. Defensively, the Clippers are giving up 109.5 points per game while opponents are held to 43.7 percent shooting. Paul George remains out for today’s game due to a hamstring injury. He averages 23.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists per contest. Kawhi Leonard is leading the team with 27.3 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists per contest.
Magic on a slide
Orlando returned home from a long road trip this week, but have suffered losses at home to the Thunder and Celtics. The Magic are just 1-4 in their last five games. Orlando is now 21-25 on the season, 13-10 at home, 21-23-2 against the spread and 25-19-2 with the under.
The Magic have the league’s top defense, allowing just 104.4 points per game while opponents shoot 45.4 percent against them. Offensively, Orlando is 29th in the league. The Magic average 103.8 points per game while shooting 43.4 percent from the field. Nikola Vucevic is leading the team with 19.0 points and 11.1 rebounds per game. Evan Fournier is adding 19.2 points per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Clippers are just 3-9 against the spread in their last 12 games following a win, but 25-12 ATS in their last 37 games as a road favorite.
Orlando
The Magic are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games playing on 1 day of rest and 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine games as a home underdog.
Prediction:
The Clippers just earned a 122-95 win at home over the Magic back on Jan. 16. Los Angeles has been able to score consistently, with or without Paul George. That has been a big problem for Orlando. The Magic have to win with defense and they have been struggling to do that lately. They have scored under 100 in three of their last five games. I can’t see Orlando being able to outscore the Clippers tonight. Leonard will be a dominant player in this one.
NBA Prediction: Los Angeles Clippers -4.5
