Tuesday’s NBA Odds
The NBA Season officially gets underway today. Here is a look at the odds for the three games on the schedule.
The featured game of the day has the Chicago Bulls playing host to the Cleveland Cavaliers at 8PM ET. According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Bulls are a 3-point favorite at home against the Cavs, while the over/under total for the game has been set at 198 points. Chicago was 50-32 last season and 27-14 at home while the Cavs were 53-29 overall and 22-19 on the road. Cleveland has won three straight meetings with the Bulls, but Chicago is 6-2 against the spread in the last eight meetings. These two have hit the over in three of their last five encounters.
Another featured game today has the Golden State Warriors hosting the New Orleans Pelicans at 10:30PM ET. The Warriors will be without coach Steve Kerr, who is dealing with a back issue. Oddsmakers still have Golden State as a 9.5-point favorite at home against the Pelicans, while the over/under total for the game has been set at 214.5 points. The Warriors won the NBA Championship last season with a 67-15 record overall and a 39-2 home record while the Pelicans were 45-37 overall a year ago and 17-24 on the road. Golden State has won four straight and nine of its last 10 against New Orleans while the Pelicans have covered the spread in four of the last five against the Warriors. These two have pushed or hit the under in four of their last five meetings.
The final game taking place today has the Atlanta Hawks hosting the Detroit Pistons at 8PM ET. Oddsmakers have the Hawks as a 6.5-point favorite at home against the Pistons, while the over/under total has been set at 197 points. The Hawks were 60-22 last season and 35-6 at home while the Pistons were 32-50 overall and 14-27 on the road. Atlanta has won three of its last four against Detroit and the Hawks are 6-3 against the spread in their last nine with the Pistons. These two have hit the under in five of their last nine meetings.
