Knicks vs. 76ers Prediction
The Knicks are in a massive funk right now but will they cover against the 76ers tonight in Philadelphia at 7:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Knicks are 2.5-point road favorites versus the 76ers while the over/under currently sits at 210.5 points. New York opened as a 2-point favorite before the number was bet up slightly, while the total hit the board at 209 before climbing as well.
The Knicks have lost eight of 10 games and are going through turmoil. Derrick Rose was listed as a starter 90 minutes before tip-off of the team’s 110-96 loss to the Pelicans on Monday, but failed to show up to the game. Once the team learned he was okay, Rose was fined but not suspended and is expected to play tonight in Philadelphia. Coach Jeff Hornacek said that if Rose is in “the right mental state” then he’d even start tonight. It’s a bizarre situation.
Joel Embiid scored 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting on Sunday, grabbing five rebounds, four assists, two blocks and three turnovers in 24 minutes as the Sixers beat the Nets, 105-95. Jahlil Okafor did not play but thinks he’ll go tonight when the team hosts the Knicks. We’ll see if the team clears Okafor before the game.

OUR PREDICTION: Despite having a rough go of things of late, I like the Knicks to cover tonight. They’re 4-1 against the spread in their last five games against the 76ers and are 11-3 at the betting window in their last 14 games in Philadelphia. The road team has also cashed in this matchup, going 21-9 against the number in the last 30 minutes. The Knicks have also cashed in nine of their last 13 road games and are 9-4 against the number in their last 13 conference games, while the 76ers are 1-5 against the spread in their last six home games.
WEDNESDAY NBA PREDICTION: NEW YORK KNICKS -2.5
