Opening Tuesday NBA Playoff Odds
(The Spread) – Two teams face elimination on Tuesday night when the first round of the 2011 NBA Playoffs continues.
Even though he turned his ankle, Derrick Rose’s teammates say he’ll be ready for Game 5 against the Indiana Pacers. The Chicago Bulls have a three-games-to-one lead over the Pacers and can close out Indiana with a victory tonight.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Bulls 9.5-point favorites over the Pacers, while the over/under total has opened at 187.5 points. Tip off for tonight’s game is set for 8:00PM ET on TNT.
Rose sat out of practice on Monday to rest his sprained ankle and has no intention of missing Game 5. He mentioned how he’s getting treatment “morning and night,” although he’ll likely be a game time decision.
Another team facing elimination on Tuesday is the Orlando Magic, who are 7.5-point favorites against the Atlanta Hawks despite being down three-games-to-one. The over/under for this game is currently 178 points.
According to latest NBA trends, the Hawks are 8-0 against the spread in their last eight meetings and 4-0 ATS in their last four trips to Orlando. The underdog is also 8-0 ATS in the last eight meetings between these two teams.
The third and final game on Tuesday pits the Los Angeles Lakers against the New Orleans Hornets. After spraining his ankle in Game 4 over the weekend, Kobe Bryant might be hobbled in Game 5 tonight, but he should play. The Lakers are 10.5-point favorites over the visiting Hornets.
