Hornets vs. Spurs Prediction
Will the Hornets cover the large point spread tonight when they visit the Spurs at 8:30PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Spurs are 10.5-point home favorites versus the Hornets while the over/under currently sits at 207.5 points. San Antonio had opened as an 11-point favorite before the number was bet down to 10.5, while the total hit the board at 206 before being bet up to 207.5.
The Hornets have confirmed that Nicolas Batum hyperextended his right knee and will not play tonight in San Antonio. The team lists him as day-to-day and will need to lean on Marco Belinelli and Jeremy Lamb in Batum’s absence. There was a report that Batum would miss 1-2 weeks but that was apparently inaccurate.
Tony Parker is coming off a strong performance against the Nuggets on Thursday night, scoring 21 points with a season-high nine assists, three rebounds and one 3-pointer in the victory. LaMarcus Aldridge also hit 11-of-18 shots for 28 points, four rebounds, one assists, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer. Aldridge is now averaging 24.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 blocks over 34.2 minutes per game since Christmas.

OUR PREDICTION: The home team is 12-4-1 against the spread in the last 17 meetings between these two teams and the Hornets are just 1-4 against the number in their last five trips to San Antonio. Charlotte has also failed to cover in five of its last seven games when playing on one day of rest and is just 1-6 against the number in its last seven games played on Saturday. The Spurs, meanwhile, are a perfect 7-0 at the betting window in their last seven home games and have covered in six of their last seven overall. It’s a big number tonight but San Antonio should roll.
SATURDAY NBA PREDICTION: SAN ANTONIO SPURS -10.5
