Knicks vs. Hornets Pick
Are the New York Knicks equipped to notch a road win tonight at the Charlotte Hornets? Game time is 7PM ET.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Hornets are a 6-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under is set at 207 points.
New York enters with a 16-13 overall record and 17-12 ATS after a 111-96 home win over the Thunder, its fourth straight victory. Charlotte is 10-19 overall and 11-16-2 ATS following a 93-91 home loss to the Trail Blazers, its third straight defeat. The Knicks won the first meeting this season by a count of 118-113 on their home floor on Nov. 7. New York is 3-1 straight up and 4-0 ATS in four meetings since the start of last season. The over is 4-0.
The Knicks were paced by Michael Beasley in the win over OKC as he tallied 30 points, five rebounds and four assists. He replaced Kristaps Porzingis (sore knee) in the starting lineup. Courtney Lee accounted for 20 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals. Doug McDermott added 13 points. New York outscored the Thunder 88-70 over the final three quarters.
Nicolas Batum led the Hornets in the loss to the Trail Blazers with 23 points, five assists and four rebounds. Jeremy Lamb contributed 15 points and four rebounds off the bench. Kemba Walker added 14 points, six rebounds, six assists and two steals. Charlotte was outscored 49-37 in the first half.
New York is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Charlotte. The over is 14-3-2 in the last 19 meetings.
Porzingis might return tonight after missing last game, but his status is unknown right now. Even so, the Knicks have been playing solid basketball even without Porzingis and Tim Hardaway Jr. in the lineup. A matchup against a Hornets team that is struggling is an ideal situation to keep the streak going. New York has had recent success in Charlotte and the 6-point spread seems a little too big.
