Spurs, Warriors Should Light up Board

If you love betting the over, then Thursday night’s matchup between the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors is perfect for you.

According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook YouWager, the Warriors are 11-point home favorites to top the Spurs tonight. As for the betting total, it currently sits at 221 at the majority of online sportsbooks.

LINE MOVEMENT

The Warriors opened as 12-point home favorites but the line was bet down a full point to 11 at most books. The total also dropped after opening at 222. As previously mentioned, it is now 221.

PUBLIC BETTING

As of this writing, 54% of betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Spurs to cover as a double-digit road dog. Meanwhile, 54% of the betting tickets are on the under.

KEY INJURY TO WATCH

You already know about Kawhi Leonard, who is out with a quad injury. Rudy Gay (ear), however, is probable to play for the Spurs, who will be without Pau Gasol (shoulder). On the other side, Andre Iguodala (arm) is doubtful for the Warriors, who are relatively healthy as a whole.

BETTING STRATEGY

I’m surprised by the line movement on the total (as in, I’m surprised the number has dropped a full point). Still, I love the over, which is a perfect 5-0 in the last five meetings between these two teams in Oakland. The over is also 6-1 in the last seven meetings between these two teams overall and is 6-1 the last seven times Golden State has played an opponent with a winning record. Finally, the over is 6-1 in San Antonio’s last seven games as well.

OUR PREDICTION: SPURS/WARRIORS OVER 221
