NBA Predictions: Will Suns and Bucks race past total? 1/22/18

Suns vs. Bucks Pick

Are the Phoenix Suns and host Milwaukee Bucks going to play an entertaining, high-scoring game tonight at 8PM ET?

Who Oddsmakers Like: According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Bucks are a 3.5-point favorite on the spread line. The total is set at 213 points. The spread and over-under have remained put since they opened.

Who the Public Likes: As of Monday morning, public betting info on this game had not yet been released. Click here for up-to-date info.

Injury Report: Suns power forward Danuel House has missed the last two games with an illness and is questionable tonight. Marquese Chriss has missed the last four games with a hip flexor injury and is expected to be out again tonight. Alan Williams is out until late March as he recovers from surgery to repair his meniscus. Brandon Knight is out for the season after tearing his ACL last summer. For the Bucks, Malcolm Brogdon missed the last game due to a personal matter and it is unknown whether he will return tonight. Giannis Antetokounmpo will be out again tonight as he battles knee soreness. Jabari Parker is expected to return in early February from a torn ACL. Mirza Teletovic is out until late March as he recovers from knee surgery and pulmonary emboli in both lungs.

Who the Trends Like: Phoenix is 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall, but 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Milwaukee. The under is 5-2 in the last seven meetings.

Who We Like: The Suns are the worst defensive team in the NBA by some metrics and have allowed at least 100 points in 10 consecutive games. While the Bucks suffer offensively some with Antetokounmpo out, Khris Middleton always steps up his game in the star player’s absence and is coming off his first career triple-double. Middleton plus Bledsoe should allow the Bucks enough offense here, but their defense has been underwhelming and disappointing much of the season. After allowing 106 points to the Heat and 116 to the Sixers in a pair of losses, I don’t expect Milwaukee to suddenly figure out its defense tonight.
