NBA Predictions: Will Trail Blazers win third in row at Hornets? 1216/17

Trail Blazers vs. Hornets Pick

Are the Portland Trail Blazers going to continue their strong play this road trip tonight when they battle the Charlotte Hornets at 7PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Hornets are listed as a 3-point favorite on the spread line. The total is set at 205 points.

Portland comes in with a 15-13 overall record and 12-13-3 ATS after a 95-88 victory Friday night at the Magic. Charlotte is 10-18 overall and 11-15-2 ATS following a 104-98 home loss to the Heat Friday night. The two meetings last season were split 1-1 straight up and 1-1 ATS. The under went 2-0.

The Trail Blazers were led by Damian Lillard with 21 points, four assists, two rebounds and two steals in the win at Orlando. CJ McCollum tallied 20 points, four assists and two boards. Al-Farouq Aminu added 15 points and five rebounds. Portland led 50-43 at halftime.

Kemba Walker accounted for 25 points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals in the loss to Miami. Dwight Howard tallied 15 points and 16 rebounds. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist added 13 points and three boards. The Hornets trailed 79-71 through three quarters.

Portland is 11-5 ATS in the last 16 meetings. The under is 4-0 in the last four meetings.

Bet on Trail Blazers vs. Hornets

Both teams are on a back-to-back, but with the Trail Blazers getting Jusuf Nurkic back from a sprained ankle Friday night it provides them once again with a strong interior player on both ends of the court. While Nurkic might not be asked for a lot of offense going up against one of the NBA’s best defensive centers in Howard, he should free up more open looks from the perimeter. Portland has done well in this series in recent years and expect it to continue tonight.
