Thunder rolling
Oklahoma City is riding a four-game win streak right now following a 140-111 win over the Hawks at home last night. The Thunder have covered the spread in all four wins. OKC is now 27-19 on the season, 12-10 on the road, 31-15 against the spread and 23-23 with the over/under total.
The Thunder are putting up 110.6 points per game on offense this season while shooting 47.2 percent from the field. Defensively, OKC is giving up 108.2 points per game while allowing opponents to shoot 45.7 percent from the floor. Steven Adams is questionable to play tonight due to an ankle injury. He has missed recent games. Adams is averaging 11.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per contest. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is leading the team with 19.8 points and 6.0 rebounds per contest.
Minnesota on big slide
The Timberwolves are on an 8-game losing streak right now following a 131-124 loss at home to Houston last night. Minnesota is 1-7 against the spread in their last eight games. The Timberwolves are now 15-30 on the season, 6-16 at home, 17-26-2 against the spread and 25-20 with the over.
Minnesota is putting up 111.4 points per game on offense this season while shooting just 43.4 percent from the floor. Defensively, the Timberwolves are giving up 115 points per game while opponents shoot 46.4 percent from the field. Karl-Anthony Towns returned to action in the last week, but it hasn’t led to wins. He is averaging 26.6 points, 10.9 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. Andrew Wiggins is adding 22.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.6 assists per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Oklahoma City
The Thunder are 18-6 against the spread in their last 24 games following a cover and 5-0 ATS in their last five road games against a team with a losing home record.
Minnesota
The Timberwolves are 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games as an underdog and 7-19-1 ATS in their last 27 home games.
Prediction:
The Thunder have already won a pair of games against Minnesota this season, covering in both games. I expect more of the same tonight. Even with Towns back, the Timberwolves are still playing poorly. They have lost their last four by at least seven points. That includes a loss to the Bulls. Oklahoma City has the right balance of offense and defense and counter whatever Minnesota can offer. The Thunder have the defense to limit Minnesota’s offense and they have the scoring depth to light up this poor T’Wolves defense.
NBA Prediction: Oklahoma City Thunder -2
