Suns look for win streak
Phoenix is coming off wins at home over Portland and Milwaukee over the last week. The Suns are now 26-38 on the season, 13-16 on the road, 29-34-1 against the spread and 33-31 with the over.
The Suns are a solid offensive team, season 112.7 points per game while shooting 46.5 percent from the field. Defensively, Phoenix is allowing 113.8 points per game while opponents shoot 47.4 percent from the field. The Suns are without Kelly Oubre Jr., but could be getting Deandre Ayton back tonight from his ankle injury. Ayton is questionable. He is averaging 19.0 points and 12.0 rebounds per game. Devin Booker is leading the team with 26.1 points and 6.5 assists per contest.
Blazers can’t get on track
Portland hasn’t been able to get on track since the All-Star Break. They are coming off back-to-back losses to the Suns and Kings in the last week. Portland is now 28-37 on the season, 17-14 at home, 26-37-2 against the spread and 37-28 with the over.
The Blazers are averaging 113.5 points per game on offense while shooting 46 percent as a team. Defensively, Portland is allowing 115.4 points per contest while opponents shoot 45.2 percent against them. Damian Lillard is averaging 29 points and 7.8 assists per game to lead the team. CJ McCollum is adding 22.5 points per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Phoenix
The Suns are 2-5 against the spread in their last seven road games and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games following a win.
Portland
The Blazers are just 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 home games against a team with a losing road record and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall.
Prediction:
Phoenix has had Portland’s number this season, winning two of the three meetings while covering in all three contests. The Suns have been able to navigate the Portland defense pretty well. Neither team plays good defense and Phoenix has the guard play to match Portland. Lillard hasn’t looked great since returning from injury and I think he needs to be at his best to go toe-to-toe in scoring with Booker. I like the Phoenix offense to do enough to cover in this one, if not win outright.
NBA Prediction: Phoenix Suns +5
