Thunder’s Kevin Durant: ‘I feel like I’m the best player in the world’

Durant: I’m the best in the world

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (The Spread) – Is Kevin Durant of the Thunder the best player in the world? He feels as though he is.

Durant is practicing with Team USA and despite missing most of the 2014-2015 season due to injury, he told Vincent Goodwill of CSN Chicago that he’s the best in the world.

On Wednesday Goodwill tweeted from KD: “No disrespect to anyone else but I feel like I’m the best player in the world.”

Most would argue that LeBron James is the best basketball player in the world, especially coming off his performance in last year’s Finals versus the Warriors. Despite Cleveland’s loss to Golden State, James averaged 35.8 points, 12.8 assists and 8.8 rebounds per game for a Cavs team that was decimated by injury. LeBron only pushed the Warriors to a Game 6.

That said, there’s nothing wrong with a professional athlete having the confidence in himself to be better than anyone on the court/field/ice. If Durant didn’t feel that way, some would be left to wonder if he had the drive and will to win a championship.
