Raptors struggling to cover
Toronto has won its last two games on this West Coast road trip following a 121-113 win at Golden State back on Thursday, but the Raptors are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games. Toronto is now 44-18 on the season, 21-9 on the road, 34-28 against the spread and 33-28-1 with the over.
The Raptors are putting up 113.1 points per game on offense this year while shooting 45.8 percent from the field. Defensively, Toronto is giving up just 106.7 points per game while opponents are held to 42.9 percent shooting. Pascal Siakam is leading the team this season with 23.6 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Kyle Lowry is adding 19.5 points and 7.7 assists per game. Toronto could be without third-leading scorer, Fred VanVleet, tonight due to his shoulder injury.
Kings playing well
Sacramento is coming off a nice 123-111 win at Portland last night for a seventh win in nine games. The Kings are also 7-2 against the spread during this stretch. The Kings are 28-35 on the season, 14-16 at home, 33-29-1 against the spread and 33-30 with the over.
The Kings are giving up 110.8 points per game on defense this season while opponents shoot 46.8 percent against them. Offensively, Sacramento is averaging 108.9 points per game this year while the team shoots 45.9 percent from the field. The Kings are led by De’Aaron Fox, who is averaging 20.3 points and 6.8 assists per game. Buddy Hield is adding 20.0 points and 4.8 rebounds per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Toronto
The Raptors are 3-8 against the spread in their last 11 games when playing on two days of rest and are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 road games against a team with a losing home record.
Sacramento
The Kings have covered the spread in five straight games as an underdog and in five straight on no rest.
Prediction:
The Kings have been surprisingly solid on back-to-backs and I think they will cover, if not win outright, tonight at home. Sacramento is still making a charge toward a playoff spot. They sit 3.5 games out of the eighth spot, but are moving in the right direction right now. Toronto has shown a consistency to play down to its competition when facing losing opponents and I think that will be the case tonight out West against the Kings. The Raptors have been hot-and-cold on both offense and defense in recent weeks and I think the young legs of the Kings will be a bit much for this veteran team tonight.
NBA Prediction: Sacramento Kings +5.5
