Jazz stay alive
Utah kept their season alive on Monday night with a 107-91 win over the Rockets in Game 4. That win snapped a 4-game losing streak overall for the Jazz. Utah is 51-35 on the season, 21-21 on the road, 45-39-2 against the spread and 45-40-1 with the under.
The Jazz pulled down 16 offensive rebounds and had some solid bench play in Monday’s win. Donovan Mitchell had another strong game with 31 points and seven rebounds while Jae Crowder had 23 points and Ricky Rubio had 18 points with 11 assists. Derrick Favors and Royce O’Neale combined for 23 points and 22 rebounds off the bench.
Rockets don’t get the sweep
Houston struggled offensively on Monday night in Game 4, posting just 91 points in the loss. It was the Rockets first failed cover in the series. Houston is now 56-30 on the season, 33-10 at home, 43-40-3 against the spread and 44-40-2 with the under.
The Rockets went just 28 of 79 from the field in Game 4, including 17 of 46 from the arc. They also were out-rebounded 52-35. James Harden still put up 30 points on 8 of 19 shootings, but had just three rebounds and four assists. Chris Paul added 23 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. The Houston bench put up just five points.
NBA Betting Trends
Utah
The Jazz are just 1-5 against the spread in their last six conference quarterfinal games, but 12-4 ATS in their last 16 Wednesday games.
Houston
The Rockets are 7-0-1 against the spread in their last eight home games and 9-2-1 ATS in their last 12 conference games.
Prediction:
The Rockets really struggled with their offense in Utah, but I think that will change back at home. Harden and company are too good of scorers to have three straight poor offensive games. I expect Mitchell and Utah to still have a spirited effort, but their lack of offense will catch up with them in the second half. Houston knows its needs to finish this thing off tonight to get some rest before facing Golden State. I expect the Rockets to be on their game and roll to a victory.
NBA Prediction: Houston Rockets -8
