Wizards vs. 76ers NBA 2/26/16 Picks & Predictions

Wizards take on horrendous Sixers Friday

The Wizards head to Philadelphia tonight to take on a Sixers team that is in the midst of a horrendous funk. The two teams will tip-off at 7:00PM ET.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Wizards are 8.5-point road favorites versus the 76ers for tonight’s game while the over/under is sitting at 214.5 points, up from the opening number of 214.

There’s simply no reason to back Philadelphia at this point, as no amount of points provide enough value for bettors. Jahlil Okafor’s defensive lapses continue to hurt the team while Ish Smith has had a rough February from a shooting standpoint (he’s made just 37.9 percent of his field goals and 63.2 percent of his free throws). The Sixers are 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 home games but 7-22 ATS in their last 29 games versus Eastern Conference opponents.

Bradley Beal has to be better than the 19-shot, 19-point performance that he had versus the Bulls on Wednesday if the Wizards are going to build a big enough lead to cover tonight. (It would be nice if John Wall emerges from his three-game scoring slump as well.) But at least Washington has covered the spread in five of its last six games versus Philadelphia and is 4-0 against the number in its lat four games coming off a loss.
