Friday’s Big 12 Predictions

The 2018 Big 12 Tournament is down its two semifinal games on Friday, March 9, 2018. Here’s our predictions for who will cover in both contests.

869 Kansas State +8 vs. 870 Kansas, 7PM ET (ESPN)

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Kansas is the favorite in this game, as the Jayhawks are getting odds of -8 points against Kansas State. The Jayhawks have won seven straight in this series, including both meetings this year. They won by a point at home on Jan. 13 and then won by 14 at Kansas State on Jan. 29. Kansas avenged a loss to Oklahoma State last night, but I am not sure the Jayhawks will have the same motivation to beat K-State a third time. The Kansas offense hasn’t performed well outside of its home arena and the Jayhawks have a tendency to play down to their competition. Kansas State could use this win a lot more than the Jayhawks, so I will take the points. I see this game being competitive. BIG 12 PREDICTIONS: 869 KANSAS STATE +8

Bet on Big 12 for Friday, March 9, 2018

871 West Virginia -2 vs. 872 Texas Tech, 9PM ET (ESPN2)

According to oddsmakers, West Virginia is favored in this game, as the Mountaineers are getting odds of -2 points against the Red Raiders. These two split their two meetings this season, but the Mountaineers managed to cover in both games. WVU looked good against Baylor, winning by 13 points and they have won four of their last five. The lone loss came in OT. Tech has won its last two but is 0-5-1 against the spread in its last six games. The West Virginia offense should continue to shine while its defense does enough to keep the Red Raiders at bay. BIG 12 PREDICTIONS: 871 WEST VIRGINIA -2
