Butler vs. Purdue Pick

Can No. 17 Purdue pick up a big win over an in-state foe when the Boilermakers face Butler at Noon ET in the Crossroads Classic?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Purdue is favored in this contest, as the Boilermakers are getting odds of -7.5 points against Butler. The over/under total for the game has yet to be set. Today’s game takes place from Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana and will air live on FOX.

Buter is riding a five-game winning streak coming into today’s game. The Bulldogs are now 8-2 on the season with a 6-3 record against the spread. Butler has covered in its last four games as well. The Bulldogs are averaging 75.1 points per game on offense while giving up 66 per game on defense. Kelan Martin is leading Butler with 17.6 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. Kamar Baldwin is adding 13.4 points per contest for the Bulldogs.

Purdue is on a six-game winning streak thanks to an 86-61 win over IUPUI last weekend. The Boilermakers are 10-2 on the year while putting up a 7-4 record against the spread. Purdue is putting up 85.9 points per game this season while allowing 65.2 per contest. Carsen Edwards is averaging 17 points per game to lead Purdue this season while Vincent Edwards is adding 13.5 points and 9.2 rebounds per game.

Bet on Butler vs. Purdue

Butler has won five straight meetings with Purdue, covering the spread in four of the five meetings as well. The Bulldogs have been very good at neutral sites in recent years, posting a 40-13-2 record against the spread in their last 55 on a neutral floor. Purdue is just 1-6 against the spread in its last 7 games against Big East opponents. The public betting is narrowly with Purdue, but I think Butler continues its dominance in this series.

CBB DAILY PREDICTION: BUTLER +7.5
