Louisville vs. Virginia Pick

It’s another big ACC clash tonight when No. 9 Virginia hosts No. 6 Louisville at 7PM ET on ESPN. Which team has the edge?

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Virginia is the favorite at home in tonight’s game, as the Cavaliers are getting odds of -5 points against the Cardinals. The over/under total for the game is listed at 126 points. Virginia has won and covered the spread in three straight meetings with Louisville, including a 61-53 win at Louisville on Dec. 28.

Bet on Louisville vs. Virginia

Virginia is coming off a loss at Syracuse this weekend, 62-66, to fall to 17-5 on the season and 7-3 in the ACC. The Cavaliers are now 13-7 against the spread on the season as well after failing to cover against the Orange. UVA relies heavily on its defense, allowing just 54 points per game on the season and only 49.3 at home. Offensively, Virginia puts up 68.9 points per game. London Perrantes is leading the team with 11.9 points and 4 assists per game while Marial Shayok is adding 9.8 points per game.

Louisville has won three straight by at least 20 points to improve to 19-4 overall and 7-3 in the ACC. The Cardinals are 5-0-1 against the spread in their last six to get to 15-5-1 against the spread on the season. Louisville is putting up 78.5 points per game on offense this year while giving up 62.3 on defense. Quentin Snider continues to be out with a hip injury for the Cardinals. He was averaging 12.1 points per game. Donovan Mitchell is leading the team with 15 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.

Virginia has been pretty good at responding from a loss. Following the 61-59 loss at Villanova, the Cavaliers beat Virginia Tech at home 71-48. While Louisville is no Virginia Tech, the Cardinals’ current hot streak is a little bit of fool’s gold. Louisville beat Pittsburgh, N.C. State and Boston College in this run, which isn’t quite the top of the ACC. Now, going on the road to face Virginia, I expect that run to fall apart.
