Central Florida vs. Wichita State Pick

Can No. 17 Wichita State handle a lopsided spread at home when the Shockers host Central Florida tonight at 9PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Wichita State is favored at home, as the Shockers are getting odds of -14 points against UCF. The over/under total for the game is listed at 130 points. Tonight’s game will take place from Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Kansas and will air live on ESPN2.

Wichita State is coming off back-to-back losses to SMU and Houston entering tonight’s game. The Shockers are 15-4 overall, 5-2 in the AAC and 7-10 against the spread. Wichita State is averaging 83.2 points per game on offense while allowing 69.3 per game on defense. Landry Shamet is averaging 15.6 points and 5.2 assists per game to lead the Knights while Shaquille Morris added 12.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.

UCF is coming off a 71-69 win at South Florida this past weekend to snap a two-game losing skid. Central Florida is 13-6 overall, 4-3 in the AAC and 9-5 against the spread. The Knights are averaging just 63.6 per game on offense while holding opponents to 59.1 points per contest. Injuries have been an issue for the Knights as Tacko Fall is out for the year with a shoulder injury. A.J. Davis is also battling an injury, but is expected to play. He is averaging 10.3 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. Fall was putting up 11.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. B.J. Taylor has appeared in just three games, but is averaging 14.3 points per game for the Knights.

Bet on Central Florida vs. Wichita State

These two have no recent meetings to consider for this game. Both teams are struggling at the betting window right now, failing to cover in their last three games. The slump for the Shockers is pretty surprising given how well they had been playing most of the season. Despite the setback, Wichita State still has covered in two of its last three at home and their last four wins at home have been by nine or more. UCF is banged up and doesn’t have much offense even when healthy. The public betting is solidly with the Shockers tonight and I agree with them.
