College Basketball Predictions: Houston & BC Worth Laying Points 2/28/18

Three CBB Faves Worth Betting

Here are three favorites that bettors should lay points for on Wednesday, including the Houston Cougars.

Illinois vs. Iowa, 5:30 p.m. ET

According to oddsmakers from online sports book YouWager, the Hawkeyes are now 1-point favorites to beat the Fighting Illini in the opening round of the Big Ten tournament today at 5:30 p.m. ET. While Iowa has covered the spread in four of its last five games when facing an opponent with a losing record, the Illini are just 2-5 against the number in their last seven games coming off a victory. Both teams looked impressive over the weekend but the line movement indicates sharp action on Iowa.

College Basketball Prediction: Iowa Hawkeyes -1

Bet Tonight’s College Hoops Action

Syracuse vs. Boston College, 9:00 p.m. ET

This is another game that has wiseguy potential. This matchup opened as a pick’em but the Eagles are now -1.5 despite over 65% of the betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks being on the Orange. I just don’t trust Syracuse at thee moment, ass the lost five of its last eight games. The home team has consecutive meetings between these two teams.

College Basketball Prediction: Boston College -1.5

Houston at SMU, 9:00 p.m. ET

Winners of eight of their last 10, the Cougars are red-hot both on the hardwood and at the betting window (7-2-1 ATS). Tonight they take on an SMU squad that has dropped seven of its last 10 games overall and is just 3-6-1 at the betting window during that span. Houston is also 5-1-1 against the spread in its last seven games overall, all conference matchups, and 12-4 at the betting window in its last 16 games after scoring more than 90 points in its previous contest. I love only laying 6 on the road fave tonight.

College Basketball Predictions: Houston Cougars -6
