College Basketball Predictions: Syracuse vs. Connecticut 12/5/17

Syracuse vs. Connecticut Pick

Which premiere program will pick up a win in the Jimmy V Classic when Connecticut takes on Syracuse tonight at 9PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Syracuse is favored in this game, as the Orange are getting odds of -6.5 points against Connecticut. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 132 points. Tonight’s game takes place from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York and will air live on ESPN.

Syracuse is coming off a 76-60 loss to Kansas on a neutral floor last weekend. The Orange are now 6-1 on the season overall while posting a 2-4 record against the spread. Syracuse is scoring 72.3 points per game on offense while allowing just 62 points per game. Tyus Battle is putting up 20 points per game to lead the Orange while Frank Howard is adding 15.6 points and 6.1 assists per game.

Connecticut is coming off an 84-81 win over Monmouth in OT to improve to 6-2 on the season. The Huskies are just 1-4 against the spread, failing to cover in their last four games. UConn is putting up 72.9 points per game on offense while allowing 73 points per contest. Jalen Adams is putting up 19.4 points and 3.3 assists per game to lead the Huskies while Terry Larrier is adding 16 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.

Bet on Syracuse vs. Connecticut

Syracuse has won seven of the last 10 meetings with Connecticut, but the Huskies are 6-4 against the spread in these 10 games. However, Connecticut is just 3-8 against the spread in its last 11 games on a neutral sit and 2-5 ATS in its last seven games with a winning record. Syracuse is 8-3 ATS in its last 11 games following a loss. Syracuse has the better talent in my mind and UConn has been struggling to beat lesser teams as is. The public betting is siding with Syracuse in this game and I agree. I think the Orange will look strong tonight at MSG.
