Public Betting Trends

According to oddsmakers at BetNow.eu, Tennessee is heavily favored at home, as the Volunteers are getting odds of -11 points against the Gators. The over/under total is listed at 138.5 points. The public betting currently has 76 percent going on Tennessee at home. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our College Basketball Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Gators looking to get on track

Florida has lost two straight and three of its last four coming into today’s game. Florida suffered a 76-62 loss at Auburn earlier this week. The Gators have also failed to cover the spread in five straight games. Florida is 12-10 on the season, 4-5 in the SEC, 2-4 on the road, 9-13 against the spread and 14-8 with the under.

The Gators have been about defense for many years and this season has been no different. Florida is giving up just 63.4 points per game while holding opponents to 41.4 percent shooting. However, the offense puts up just 68.7 points per game and shoots only 42.1 percent. KeVaughn Allen is the leading scorer with just 12.9 points per game while Noah Locke adds 11.4 per contest.

Vols keep rolling

Tennessee kept its perfect SEC record going this week with a 72-60 win at home over Missouri. However, the Vols failed to cover in the win, snapping a 3-game cover streak. Tennessee is 21-1 overall, 9-0 in the SEC, 13-0 at home, 12-8-1 against the spread and 12-9 with the over.

The Volunteers have one of the top offenses in the entire nation, averaging 86 points per game while shooting 51.5 percent as a team. Tennessee is also pretty good defensively, allowing just 67.6 points per game while limiting opponents to 39.2 percent shooting. Tennessee has five players that average double figures. Grant Williams leads the team with 20.1 points and 7.4 rebounds per contest while Admiral Schofield adds 16.6 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest.

College Basketball Betting Trends

Florida

The Gators are 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 games following a loss, but 0-4 ATS in their last four SEC games.

Tennessee

The Vols are 5-1 against the spread in their last six Saturday games and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games overall.

Prediction:

The home team had really controlled this series, going 5-1 against the spread in the last six meetings. Florida is just 1-4 ATS in its last five trips to Knoxville. Tennessee was able to get a rare road win in the series earlier this year, winning 78-67 at Florida on Jan. 12. The Vols just have too much offense for Florida. The Gators will struggle to slow down Tennessee on the road. Even if they do, Tennessee has a defense that can match Florida anyway. I look for the Vols to pick up another lopsided victory.

College Basketball Prediction: Tennessee -11
