Cardinals cruise past Hokies
Louisville earned a 68-52 home win Sunday over Virginia Tech to improve to 24-6 overall and 15-4 in the ACC. The Cardinals outscored the Hokies 41-25 in the second half after it went into halftime tied. Jordan Nwora paced Louisville with 20 points on 8-of-16 shooting including 2-of-8 from 3-point distance plus 2-of-3 at the free throw line. He also accumulated 12 rebounds and two assists. Ryan McMahon added 10 points and three dimes.
Cavaliers edge Hurricanes
Virginia secured a 46-44 victory Wednesday night at Miami to move to 22-7 overall and 14-5 in conference action. The Cavaliers outscored the Hurricanes 22-21 in the second half of a game that was low-scoring and close throughout. Jay Huff led Virginia with 17 points on 7-of-16 shooting including 3-of-7 from 3-point range. He also pulled down nine rebounds. Mamadi Diakite added 14 points, 10 boards and two assists.
College Basketball Betting Trends
Louisville
The Cardinals are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven Saturday games. Louisville is 2-5 ATS in its last seven games as an underdog.
Virginia
The Cavaliers are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games overall. Virginia is 3-1-1 ATS in its last five Saturday games.
Prediction:
Louisville won the previous meeting at home by a count of 80-73 and are highly motivated here as the ACC regular season title is quite an accomplishment in such a talented conference. The Cavaliers still have a shot at a share if they win here and get help elsewhere. While Virginia is on a seven-game win streak, it has mostly come at the hands of some of the weaker teams in the ACC aside from a 52-50 home win over Duke. I think the Cardinals have the right makeup to go on the road and get it done today. The wrong team is favored here in my opinion. Take advantage.
