PUBLIC BETTING INFORMATION
The public is behind Texas A&M tonight. As of Thursday morning, the Aggies are getting 53 percent of the wagers on this game as the slight underdog to Michigan.
KEY INJURIES
Michigan doesn’t have anyone listed on the injury report for tonight’s game. Texas A&M has nobody new listed, but continues to be without guard Duane Wilson, who suffered a knee injury in February. Wilson averaged 9 points and 4 assists per game for the Aggies.
BETTING STRATEGIES
After opening the tournament with a 61-47 win over Montana, Michigan got a gift in its second round game, hitting a 3 at the buzzer to edge Houston, 64-63. The Wolverines failed to cover in that win. Texas A&M defeated Providence 73-69 in the first round and then dismantled North Carolina, 86-65, in the second round. The Aggies covered in both games.
Both teams have plenty of momentum, outside of the NCAA Tournament, coming into this game. Michigan has now won 11 straight games and is 9-2 against the spread in those games. Texas A&M has won five of its last six, covering the spread in four of the six games. The lone loss was by one point to Alabama.
Texas A&M looked great in the win over UNC, but the Aggies are typically that good of an offense. The UNC defense didn’t shot up and A&M got a lot of easy looks at the basket. That won’t happen against Michigan. The Wolverines have sustained great defense for weeks. They have held their last five opponents under 66. Michigan can be inconsistent on offense and didn’t shoot the ball well in its first two tournament games, but that is a positive. If the offense heats up and combines with the defense, the Wolverines will be tough to stop.
