Sunday’s Big Ten Predictions

The Big Ten has another slate of three games on the docket for Sunday. Here’s our College Basketball predictions for these three conference contests.

No. 8 Ohio State at No. 22 Michigan, 1PM ET (CBS)

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Michigan is the favorite in this game, as the Wolverines are getting odds of -3 points against Ohio State. The Buckeyes are coming off another surprising loss to Penn State, but they have beaten everyone else in the Big Ten otherwise. That includes a 9-point win at home over Michigan in Columbus back in December. OSU is 5-1 against the spread on the road, with lone failed cover being at Penn State earlier this week. The Buckeyes followed up the first loss to PSU with four straight wins. I think they bounce back today as well. BIG TEN PREDICTIONS: OHIO STATE +3

Bet on Ohio State vs. Michigan

Nebraska at Illinois, 3:30PM ET (Big Ten Network)

Oddsmakers have Nebraska as the slim favorite on the road, as they are getting odds of -1.5 points against the Illini. The Cornhuskers have really flown under the radar in the Big Ten, as they are 11-4 in conference play and 20-8 overall. They have also been strong on the road, posting an 8-2 record against the spread. Their current hot streak has them winning six straight and covering in eight straight. I don’t see Illinois possessing anything to stop the Huskers today. The Illini are just 5-7 ATS at home, failing to cover in their last two on their own floor. BIG TEN PREDICTIONS: NEBRASKA -1.5

Nebraska vs. Illinois Matchup History

Penn State at No. 6 Purdue, 8PM ET (Big Ten Network)

Oddsmakers are listing Purdue as a 7.5-point favorite in this one. Penn State is coming off the dominant win over Ohio State earlier this week and now has another big challenge in the Boilermakers, who are coming off a surprising loss to Wisconsin. Purdue has lost three straight now and is just 0-6-1 against the spread in its last seven games. The Nittany Lions have won four straight and are 6-1 ATS in their last seven. PSU didn’t let the first win at Ohio State get to its head, following it up with back-to-back covers. I don’t think they will let the win over the Buckeyes this time impact them either. Purdue is struggling and that’s not uncommon for a Matt Painter team toward the end of the season. Penn State is trying to strengthen its resume for a NCAA Tournament bid even more. I think the Nittany Lions keep this game close. BIG TEN PREDICTIONS: PENN STATE +7.5
