Will Villanova manage to win another pair of games and advance to the Final Four out of the East Region in the NCAA Tournament?
According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Villanova is the clear favorite in the region, as the Wildcats have +100 odds. Other odds are West Virginia (+375), Purdue (+400) and Texas Tech (+450). The East Region semifinals and final will be held from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.
Bet on the 2018 NCAA Tournament
Villanova is the No. 1 seed in the region and just one of two top seeds left in the entire tournament. The Wildcats beaten Radford (87-61) and Alabama (81-58) in their two victories. Nova will face West Virginia in the Sweet 16 as they seek to make their sixth Final Four appearance. They last appeared in 2016, when they won the tournament.
West Virginia is the fifth seed in the region as it seeks to upset Villanova in the Sweep 16. The Mountaineers defeated Murray State (85-68) and Marshall (94-71) to reach the regional semifinal. WVU is seeking its third Final Four in program history, its first since 2010.
Purdue is the second seed in the region, as it defeated Cal-State Fullerton (74-48) and Butler (76-73) to reach the Sweep 16. The team suffered a big loss in the opener, as center Isaac Haas broke his elbow, keeping him out of the win against Butler. Purdue will face Texas Tech this weekend. The Boilers are looking to make their third Final Four, their first since 1980.
Texas Tech is the third seed in the region. The Red Raiders defeated Stephen F. Austin (70-60) and Florida (69-66) to reach the Sweep 16. Tech has never made the Final Four in program history.
