Likekele sends Cowboys to win
Isaac Likekele hit the go-ahead layup with 3.9 seconds remaining Wednesday night to send Oklahoma State to a 72-71 win over Iowa State in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament. The Cowboys (18-14) were outscored 39-38 in the second half but found a way to the victory. Likekele paced OSU with 21 points on 9-of-14 shooting plus 3-of-5 at the free throw line. He also accumulated nine assists, five rebounds and three steals. Cameron McGriff tallied 17 points, eight boards and two steals. Yor Anei added 12 points and five caroms.
Jayhawks win outright Big 12 title
Kansas clinched the outright Big 12 Conference regular season championship Saturday with a 66-62 victory at Texas Tech. The Jayhawks (28-3, 17-1 Big 12) led 32-24 at halftime on their way to the triumph. Devon Dotson led Kansas with 17 points on 6-of-15 shooting including 1-of-5 from 3-point distance plus 4-of-4 at the charity stripe. He also recorded seven rebounds and five assists. College Basketball Betting Trends
Oklahoma State
The Cowboys are 4-0 ATS in their last four games following an ATS loss. Oklahoma State is 3-8-1 ATS in its last 12 Thursday games.
Kansas
The favorite is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings. Kansas is 7-2 ATS in its last nine meetings overall.
Prediction:
The Jayhawks have beaten the Cowboys by 15 and 25 points this season, so my first thought is this spread seems a little low. While the Cowboys have played well lately, none of their last four wins came against top 50 teams. Kansas, on the other hand, is rightfully considered the best team in the nation. I expect them to show why they’re deserving of that No. 1 ranking with a convincing win in this spot.
