Oklahoma vs. West Virginia Pick

The eyes of the nation will be on the Big 12 tonight at 7:15PM ET when No. 6 West Virginia plays host to No. 7 Oklahoma.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, West Virginia is the slight favorite at home tonight, as the Mountaineers are getting odds of -3.5 points against Oklahoma. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 172 points. Tonight’s game takes place from WVU Coliseum in Morgantown, West Virginia and will air live on ESPN2.

Oklahoma is riding a 10-game winning streak right now, including a win at TCU and a 20-point win at home over Oklahoma State. The Sooners are 12-1 overall, 2-0 in the Big 12 and 6-6 against the spread. Oklahoma has covered in four straight lined games. OU is putting up 95.8 points per game this season while allowing 80.6 per game. Trae Young has been one of the best players in the nation, posting 29.4 points and 10.6 assists per game for the Sooners. Christian James is adding 13 points per contest.

Since losing its season opener, West Virginia has won 13 straight. The Mountaineers are coming off road wins over Oklahoma State and Kansas State. WVU is 13-1 on the season, 2-0 in the Big 12 and 5-5 against the spread. The Mountaineers have covered in both conference games. WVU is putting up 84.2 points per game while holding opponents to just 64.9 per game with its aggressive trap, press defense. Jevon Carter is leading the Mountaineers with 16.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game. Daxter Miles Jr. is adding 14.3 points per contest.

Bet on Oklahoma vs. West Virginia

Oklahoma has won four of its last six meetings with West Virginia and the two have split the spread in their last 10 meetings. I love Trae Young. He’s an amazing player and is capable of carrying Oklahoma to a win today. However, I question his supporting cast. WVU is going to be very aggressive with Young and try to force someone else to beat them. While both teams have good scoring potential, Oklahoma is light years behind WVU when it comes to defensive ability. The public betting is slightly with Oklahoma, but I think the Mountaineers will be too much for the Sooners.

CBB DAILY PREDICTION: WEST VIRGINIA -3.5
