Nittany Lions ease past Cornhuskers
Penn State rolled to a 76-64 win Saturday night at Nebraska to improve to 16-5 overall and 6-4 in conference play. The Nittany Lions outscored the Cornhuskers 38-31 in the second half to put it away. Myles Dread led a balanced PSU scoring attack with 14 points off the bench on 5-of-11 shooting including 4-of-10 from 3-point distance. He also pulled down four rebounds. Lamar Stevens accounted for 13 points, five boards, two assists and two blocked shots. Myreon Jones tallied 13 points, six dimes and two rebounds. Mike Watkins added 11 points, 17 caroms, two assists and two blocks as a reserve.
Spartans edged by Badgers
Michigan State lost by a score of 64-63 Saturday afternoon at Wisconsin to drop to 16-6 overall and 8-3 in Big Ten Conference action. The Spartans trailed 43-27 at halftime and their second-half rally attempt fell just short. Cassius Winston led MSU with 23 points on 9-of-19 shooting including 3-of-5 from 3-point distance plus 2-of-2 at the charity stripe. He also accounted for four rebounds and three assists. Rocket Watts added 16 points in 25 minutes of action.
College Basketball Betting Trends
Penn State
The Nittany Lions are 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall. Penn State is 5-1 ATS in its last six Tuesday games.
Michigan State
The Spartans are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games overall. Michigan State is 48-23-1 ATS in its last 72 home games.
Prediction:
The Spartans have dropped three of their last six games straight up and while all those games were on the road, the Nittany Lions provide as tough of a matchup tonight as Michigan State has faced since Duke. While being in front of a loud home crowd will certainly help, Penn State has shown it can go into hostile environments and get a win like when it downed host Michigan 72-63 a couple weeks ago. I’d rather take the points here as I think this one stays closer than the line given by oddsmakers.
