Ugly brawl spoils Jayhawks win
A brawl in the closing seconds resulted in numerous suspensions in the aftermath of the Kansas 81-60 home victory Tuesday night over rival Kansas State. The Jayhawks led 39-23 at halftime on their way to the win. The most serious suspension was handed to Silvio De Sousa as he was handed a 12-game ban for his role in the incident. Christian Braun paced Kansas with 20 points off the bench on 7-of-15 shooting including 6-of-10 from 3-point range. He also accumulated four rebounds and two steals. College Basketball Betting Trends
Tennessee
The Volunteers are 1-4 ATS in their last five games following an ATS win. The road team is 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings.
Kansas
The Jayhawks are 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games. Kansas is 4-1 in its last seven games overall.
Prediction:
The Jayhawks have risen to the top spot nationally in adjusted defensive efficiency and can lean on that defense here against an often offense-deprived Tennessee squad. The Vols are also strong defensively, but I can’t see them hanging around for long here in a hostile environment with their propensity for offensive struggles. Kansas will want to put the ugly end to the last game behind it quickly and I see this as a fantastic spot to do so.
