Badgers vs. Hoosiers Prediction

The 24th-ranked Wisconsin Badgers can secure at least a share of the Big Ten Conference regular season title this afternoon with a win at the Indiana Hoosiers. Is a bet on Wisconsin the way to go here?

Badgers win seventh straight

Wisconsin earned a seventh consecutive win Wednesday night at home with a 63-48 triumph over Northwestern to improve to 20-10 overall and 13-6 in conference action. The Badgers outscored the Wildcats 29-20 in the second half to pull away. Nate Reuvers paced a balanced Wisconsin scoring effort with 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting plus 3-of-3 at the free throw line. He also pulled down four rebounds. Aleem Ford accounted for nine points and eight boards. Brevin Pritzl tallied nine points and six caroms. Brad Davison registered nine points, eight rebounds and two assists. Micah Potter added nine points and five boards off the bench.

Hoosiers get past Golden Gophers

Indiana secured a 72-67 home victory Wednesday night over Minnesota to move to 19-11 overall and 9-10 in Big Ten play. The Hoosiers outscored the Golden Gophers 40-33 in the second half after trailing by two at the break. Trayce Jackson Davis led Indiana with 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting plus 2-of-3 at the free throw line. He also accumulated nine rebounds and two steals. Joey Brunk registered 12 points and eight boards. Rob Phinisee had 11 points, six caroms and five assists. Al Durham tallied 11 point and four assists. Justin Smith added 10 points, two rebounds and two steals.

College Basketball Betting Trends

Wisconsin

The underdog is 11-4 ATS in the last 15 meetings. The road team is 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings.

Indiana

The Hoosiers are 1-2 ATS in the last three meetings. Two of the last three meetings have gone over the total.

Prediction:

This is a huge opportunity for Indiana as it tries to make a convincing argument it is worthy of an NCAA Tournament bid. The Hoosiers have won their last two home games convincingly against Iowa and Penn State, so playing an opponent in that general ballpark shouldn’t cause the Hoosiers to falter. The early start time should help for the hosts and it is a revenge game as it was blasted 84-64 by the Badgers all the way back on December 7. I’m taking the Hoosiers to make a statement here.
