CFB Week 1 Line Movement Report
(The Spread) – The first week of the 2011 College Football Season has had its odds out for months and there have been plenty of changes since. Here is a look at the line movement for each top 25 contest.

One of the spreads that has seen the greatest change is for No. 12 South Carolina taking on East Carolina. The Gamecocks were just a 13-point favorite to open but the spread has grown quickly, and now sits at 21 points. The over/under total opened at 61 points and has since climbed to 62.5. The game is being played on a neutral field.

2011 College Football Week 1 Line Movement Report
Utah State vs. No. 23 Auburn – Noon ET
The opening odds had Auburn favored by 31 points but the spread quickly dropped and fell as far back as 21 points before closing at 23. The over/under total opened at 55 points and has now climbed to 57 points.
Akron vs. No. 18 Ohio State – Noon ET
Opening odds had had Ohio State favored by 34 points. The spread immediately dropped back to 32 points but has since slowly climbed up to 33.5. The over/under total opened at 47.5 points and peaked at 48 before settling back at 46.5.
Miami (Ohio) vs. No. 21 Missouri – Noon ET
Missouri opened as a 17.5 point favorite at home against Miami. The spread climbed to 21 points before closing at 20. The over/under total opened at 47 points and has since been holding strong at 48.5 points.
Kent State vs. No. 2 Alabama – 12:20PM ET
Alabama had a spread of -32 to start the month and it has quickly grown since. The odds are now at Alabama -38 against Kent State. The over/under opened at 45 points and has climbed up to its current spot of 47.5 points.
Minnesota vs. No. 25 USC – 3:30PM ET
USC opened as a 16.5-point favorite and the spread has since climbed all the way to 24 points. The over/under total opened at 52 and has since dropped back to 51.5.
Louisiana Monroe vs. No. 6 Florida State – 3:30PM ET
Florida State opened as a 28-point favorite for this game. The spread has went back and forth and is now stuck at FSU -29. The over/under total opened at 52 points. The total has slowly climbed up to its current spot of 55.5 points.
South Florida vs. No. 16 Notre Dame – 3:30PM ET
Opening odds had the Irish as a 7-point favorite. The spread has slowly climbed since that time and has now peaked at 11.5. The over/under total opened at 46.5 points and quickly moved up to 47 and hasn’t changed since.
San Jose State vs. No. 7 Stanford – 5PM ET
Stanford opened as a 28-point home favorite for this game. The spread fell back to 26.5 at one point but has since climbed up to 30 points. The over/under total opened at 53.5 points and fell back to 52.5 before closing at its original 53.5 mark.
Louisiana Lafayette vs. No. 9 Oklahoma State – 7PM ET
The Cowboys opened as a 34-point favorite against the Cajuns, but the spread has since gained four points and is now OSU -38. The over/under total opened at 63 points and in the beginning, fell back to 61.5 points. It has since climbed up to 64.5.
Florida Atlantic vs. No. 22 Florida – 7PM ET
Florida opened as a 29-point favorite at home for this game. The spread has been on a steady incline since, and now sits at Florida -35. The over/under total opened at 46.5 points and has since lost the hook and moved up to 47 points.
No. 3 Oregon vs. No. 4 LSU – 8PM ET
LSU actually opened as the favorite in this game, which will be played at Cowboys Stadium. The Tigers had a spread of -3 when odds were first released, but the spread has quickly changed as LSU has had some suspensions take place. Oregon is now the favorite by 3.5 points. The over/under total hasn’t changed much, as it opened at 55 points and has closed at 54.5.
Tulsa vs. No. 1 Oklahoma – 8PM ET
Oklahoma opened as a 23-point favorite for its season opener at home. The spread had dipped down to 20.5 at one point but has now closed at Oklahoma -25. The over/under total opened at 63 points and has slowly moved its way to 65.
No. 5 Boise State vs. No. 19 Georgia – 8PM ET
Boise State has been the favorite all along, opening at -3 and closing at -3. The spread did move to 3.5 for a short time. The over/under total for this game opened at 51.5 points and has peaked at 52 before falling back to 51.
Marshall vs. No. 24 West Virginia – 3:30PM ET (Sunday)
The Mountaineers opened as an 18.5-point favorite and the spread has been climbing since, now sitting at WVU -23. The over/under total opened at 52 points but also has been climbing since, closing at 56 points.
SMU vs. No. 8 Texas A&M – 7:30PM ET (Sunday)
Texas A&M opened as a 14-point home favorite. The spread peaked at 16.5 points but has dropped back down to 15 to close. The over/under total opened at 55.5 points and grew to 57 this week before closing at 56.5.
