Utah vs. Fresno State Odds
The college football weekend closes out on Saturday night at 10:30PM ET when Fresno State plays host to No. 21 Utah on the CBS Sports Network.
According to oddsmakers at GTBets, Utah is the favorite on the road in this game, as the Utes are getting odds of -14 points against the Bulldogs. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 54 points. The home team has won seven straight between these two, including a 59-27 win for Utah last season.
Utah is 2-0 on the season, 1-1 against the spread and 2-0 with the under. The Utes started the season with a 24-17 win over Michigan at home and then picked up a 24-14 win over Utah State last week. The Utes are only averaging 332 yards per game on offense despite the 2-0 start, but they are holding opponents to 364 yards per game. Devontae Booker isn’t quite exploding out the gate like he was expected to. The running back had just 189 yards with two touchdowns in two games and is averaging 3.6 yards per carry. Quarterback Travis Wilson has thrown for 286 yards without a touchdown through two games, but he is doubtful on Saturday with a shoulder injury. Kendal Thompson could start in his place. He is 8 of 10 for 56 yards thus far in 2015.
Fresno State is 1-1 on the season, 1-1 against the spread and 1-1 with the over/under total. The Bulldogs started the year with a 34-13 win over Abilene Christian and then suffered a 73-21 loss to Ole Miss on the road last week. Fresno is giving up 427 yards per game thus far, with most of the damage coming from the Rebels last week. On offense, the Bulldogs are averaging 379 yards per game. Marteze Waller has rushed for 245 yards to lead the offense. The Bulldogs are having a QB battle as Chason Virgil has thrown for 201 yards and three touchdowns, but also has three interceptions. Zack Greenlee has thrown for 169 yards with three scores with one interception, but is completing just 47 percent of his passes.
