Title Game Spread Holding Steady
After some initial movement, tonight’s college football playoff national championship point spread is holding steady hours before kickoff.
After the line hit the board at Alabama -7, the point spread was bet down to 6.5 at the majority of online and Vegas sports books and that’s where it’s at now according to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI. The spread has seen more movement, opening at 54 before being bet down to 51, then back up to 51.5, which is where it sits now.
Bet Tonight’s Clemson vs. Alabama National Championship
In Las Vegas, the line for tonight’s title game opened at 6 at some books but has been bet up to 6.5 at the Westgate Superbook, William Hill and Wynn LV, but is Alabama -7 (with +105 odds) at the MGM Mirage. The total is also anywhere between 51 and 51.5 in Las Vegas, although some books have the over/under listed as high as 52.
With 61% of public bettors currently backing Clemson, it is somewhat surprising that the line hasn’t moved down more, but perhaps oddsmakers are protecting themselves from sharps bouncing on Alabama at a discounted price. We’re also still several hours from the 8:05PM ET kickoff, so things could change.
