According to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybooke.ag, the Tigers opened as 8.5-point home favorites but the line has dropped to 7. The total, meanwhile, opened at 59 before dropping all the way down to 54.
The Records
After upsetting Ole Miss 53-52 as a 7.5-point underdog last Saturday, Arkansas improved to 5-4 on the year and 5-4 against the spread. LSU suffered its first loss of the season in a 30-16 defeat at Alabama as a 7.5-point road underdog and is now 7-1 straight up and 4-4 against the spread.
The Pick
Bettors should take advantage of the fact that this line is slightly lower than it probably should be based on the results of last week. While LSU lost to Alabama after being outgained by 252 yards, Arkansas pulled off a dramatic upset of Ole Miss on a miracle play on fourth-and-25 (as well as a second two-point conversion after the first attempt was nullified by a penalty). LSU is a prime bounce back candidate against an Arkansas team that is allowing 438 yards per game in the SEC this season. One might look at this situation and fade the Tigers based on how the loss to the Tide bounced them out of the playoff picture. But I choose to go with an opposite viewpoint: LSU will take out its frustrations tonight in Baton Rouge.
