College Football Auburn vs. Ole Miss Week 9 Predictions 10/29/16

Auburn vs. Ole Miss Prediction

Will Auburn keep rolling past SEC opponents when it visits Ole Miss tonight at 7:15PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Tigers are now 4.5-point road favorites versus the Rebels after opening as a 2.5-point favorite earlier this week. As for the total, the number hit the board at 63 but has been bet up a full point to 64.

The Rebels are looking to beat the Tigers in consecutive meetings for the first time since winning three straight from 1949-52. Auburn is 28-7 against Ole Miss since that losing streak and this is the fourth time that the Rebels will play an opponent ranked in the top 10 of FPI this season. That’s more than any team in the FBS, with the Rebels losing all three of those games.

Auburn still has hopes of winning the SEC West and with a win this week, the Tigers look primed to enter their matchup with Alabama with a 6-1 conference record. After this week, Auburn’s other remaining SEC games besides Alabama are home versus Vanderbilt and Georgia, two games in which the Tigers should be favored.

OUR PREDICTION: Auburn’s offense is rolling right now and has greatly improved from last season when the Tigers slumped to a 7-6 record while reaching the 30-point mark just six times in 13 games. Auburn’s rushing attack is a juggernaut and rolled for 543 yards in last week’s win over Arkansas. That was the most by an FBS team in a game this season. The Tigers are one of three FBS teams averaging 300 rushing yards this season, which is horrible news for a Rebels defense that has allowed 226.9 rushing yards per game this season, ranking 113th in the FBS and worst in the SEC. This is a horrible matchup for Ole Miss.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL WEEK 9 PICK: AUBURN TIGERS -4.5
