Georgia St. vs. Penn St. Prediction
Can No. 5 Penn State manhandle Georgia State when the two meet up this Saturday night at 7:30PM ET? Here’s our prediction for this non-conference game.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Penn State is the heavy favorite at home, as the Nittany Lions are getting odds of -37 points against Georgia State. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 54.5 points. These two will meet from Beaver Stadium in University Park, Pennsylvania on Saturday and the game will air live on the Big Ten Network.

Penn State is off to a 2-0 start with a 52-0 win over Akron and a 33-14 win over Pitt. The Nittany Lions are 1-0-1 against the spread due to a push of the 19-point spread with the Panthers. Through two games, Penn State is allowing just seven points and 250.5 yards per game defensively. On offense, PSU is putting up 42.5 points and 440.5 yards per game. Saquon Barkley has rushed for 260 yards and three touchdowns to lead the team while Trace McSorley has thrown for 444 yards and five touchdowns while rushing for 113 yards and a score.
Georgia State is 0-1 on the season due to a 17-10 loss to Tennessee State at home two weeks ago. The Panthers were a 16-point favorite in the loss. Georgia State was held to just 273 total yards in the game while Tennessee State put up 383 total yards, including 238 rushing yards. Georgia State used two quarterbacks in the loss as Conner Manning and Aaron Winchester combined to go 18 of 23 passing for 224 yards. Taz Bateman caught six passes for 74 yards and a touchdown and was also the leading rusher with 27 yards on 12 carries.
Bet on Georgia State vs. Penn State
Penn State has already covered the spread against Akron with a 52-0 win and I think the Zips are probably more of a challenge than Georgia State. The Panthers couldn’t do anything against Tennessee State, so it’s hard to imagine them moving the ball on the Nittany Lions. The Georgia State defense also allowed Tennessee State to run all over them, which means Barkley is likely to have a huge day on the ground this Saturday. Penn State is 6-0-2 against the spread in its last eight home games and I see another cover this weekend.
