UCLA vs. Texas A&M Prediction

Will this Saturday’s college football matchup between UCLA and Texas A&M be high-scoring at 3:30PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Aggies are 3-point home favorites versus the Bruins this weekend, while the over/under currently sits at 53 points. Texas A&M opened as a 2-point favorite before the line was bet up a full point, while the total opened at 56.5 before being bet down nearly three full points.

Bet College Football Week 1 Games

In all games last season, the Bruins finished with a 6-7 record against the spread, failing to cover the number by a -3.1 margin. As an underdog in 2015, Jim Mora’s squad was winless at the betting window at 0-2, failing to cover by a massive -15.2 margin. Both of those failed covers came on the road.

Texas A&M didn’t do bettors any favors last season either. The Aggies failed to cover in eight of their 13 games, covering by a -3.2 margin. As a favorite, the Aggies did have a winning ATS record, going 5-4 and covering by a -0.5 margin in those nine games. As a home favorite, however, A&M was just 2-4 against the spread, failing to cover by a -7.3 margin.

OUR EARLY PICK: The safe early play is the under, which is 3-1-1 in the Bruins’ last five games overall and is a perfect 5-0 in the Aggies’ last five games as well. Josh Rosen could be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft after flashing signs of brilliance as a true freshman a year ago, but he’s also learning a new system (albeit one that has pro-style concepts that will suit him once he masters the offense). Both offenses could struggle in this early-season matchup and with the total dropping by the day, jump on the under now.
