According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Temple is favored on the road, as the Owls are getting odds of -10 points against Connecticut tonight. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 45 points. Temple has won and covered in four of its last five meetings with Connecticut. The Owls are actually 9-1 against the spread in their last 10 meetings with Connecticut.

Bet on Temple vs. Connecticut

Temple is coming off a 34-13 win over Cincinnati last week. The Owls have won three straight to improve to 6-3 on the season and 4-1 in the AAC. The Owls are also now 8-1 against the spread, covering in eight straight. Temple has been led by its defense, as the Owls are giving up just 22.7 points and 306 yards per game. They allow just 163.7 passing yards per game. The offense is putting up 33.8 points and 405.3 yards per contest. Their run game has been their best asset, averaging 181 yards per contest. Ryquell Armstead and Jahad Thomas have combined for 1,238 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns this season while Phillip Walker has thrown for 1,990 yards and 13 touchdowns, but also has 10 interceptions.

Connecticut is coming off a 41-3 loss at ECU last week to fall to 3-6 on the season and 1-5 in the AAC. The Huskies are now 2-6-1 against the spread in 2016. Connecticut has struggled on both sides of the ball, as the defense is giving up 27.6 points and 415.6 yards per game, including 290.2 passing yards per contest. Offensively, the Huskies are struggling, putting up just 18.3 points and 361.2 yards per contest. QB Bryant Shirreffs has thrown for 2,010 yards and seven touchdowns, but also has six interceptions. Arkeel Newsome is the leading rusher with 528 yards and four touchdowns.

Temple is on a roll. The Owls have found a way to cover in eight straight. That includes four games as a favorite, three of which were double-digit favorites. The Huskies have only covered in one game at home this year and their offense should struggle a great deal with the Temple defense. I think the Owls should be able to move the ball well and cruise to the win.
