WMU vs. N. Illinois Odds
Two MAC schools battle for first place in the West Division tonight when Northern Illinois hosts Western Michigan at 8PM ET on ESPN2.
According to oddsmakers at MyBookie, Northern Illinois is favored at home today, as the Huskies are getting odds of -2.5 points against the Broncos. The over/under total for the game has been set at 61 points. NIU has won six straight meetings with Western Michigan and the Huskies are 7-2-1 against the spread in their last 10 against the Broncos. These two have hit the under in 7 of their last 10 encounters.
Northern Illinois is 7-3 overall, 5-1 in the MAC, 6-2-2 against the spread and 6-4 with the over. The Huskies are coming off a 41-30 win at Buffalo last week for their fifth straight victory. NIU is averaging 36.7 points and 451.3 yards per game this season while the defense is allowing 25.3 points and 381.2 yards per game. The team lost starting QB Drew Hare a few weeks ago, but Ryan Graham has stepped in and thrown for 353 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 132 yards. Joel Bouagnon has run for 1,106 yards and 17 touchdowns to lead the offense while Kenny Golladay has caught 60 passes for 942 yards and seven touchdowns.
Western Michigan is 6-4 overall, 5-1 in the MAC, 6-4 against the spread and 5-4-1 with the over. The Broncos are coming off a 41-27 loss to Bowling Green last week, snapping a five-game win streak. WMU is averaging 36.9 points and 485.9 yards per game on offense while the defense is giving up 28 points and 400.8 yards per game. Quarterback Zach Terrell has thrown for 2,651 yards and 23 touchdowns to lead the offense while Jamauri Bogan has run for 764 yards and 11 scores. Daniel Braverman is the leading receiver with 90 catches for 1,062 yards and 11 touchdowns.
