According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Rebels are 7-point home favorites versus the Bulldogs while the over/under currently sits at 60.5 points. While the total hasn’t moved off the original number set by oddsmakers, the side has dipped from Ole Miss -7.5 to Georgia +7.

GEORGIA: The Bulldogs are off to a perfect 3-0 start under new head coach Kirby Smart but the team hasn’t done backers any favors at 1-2 against the spread. Georgia covered as a 3.5-point favorite versus UNC in an opening-week 33-24 victory but since then has failed to cover as a 52.5-point favorite (at home versus FCS foe Nicholls State) and as a 7-point road favorite last week at Missouri (28-27).
Ole MISS: The Rebels are off to a rough start, losing two of their first three games and failed to cover in two of three as well. They blew a sizable halftime lead in a 45-34 loss to Florida State in their opener (failing to cover as a 4-point underdog) and then failed to cover as a 43-point favorite in a 38-13 win over FCS opponent Wofford. Their backdoor cover as a 10-point underdog last week against Alabama in a 48-43 loss was Ole Miss’ first cover of the season.

OUR PICK: The under is a perfect 4-0 in the last four meetings between these two teams in Mississippi and has cashed in seven of the last eight meetings overall. Georgia’s offense isn’t firing on all cylinders yet as young quarterback Jacob Eason tries to get his feet under him. Nick Chubb has also been contained the last two weeks and the Bulldogs’ offense has lacked explosive plays overall. That said, Georgia’s defense has been solid so look for this one to fall short of the betting total.
