Texas vs. Oklahoma Prediction
Is Oklahoma a safe bet to cover as a big favorite versus Texas at 12:00PM ET on Saturday in the Red River Rivalry?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Sooners are now 11.5-point home favorites versus the Longhorns after opening as a 10-point favorite. As for the total, the number opened at 74 and has been bet down to 73.

The Longhorns have covered in five of their last seven games played at neutral sites but that’s about the only situation they’ve been covering in. They’re 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games in October, are 3-8 at the betting window in their last 11 games after allowing more than 450 total yards in their previous game, and are 2-7 ATS in their last nine games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game.
The Sooners, meanwhile, are a perfect 4-0 against the spread in their last four games in October, are 7-1 against the number in their last eight conference games and are 4-1 ATS in their last five games after allowing more than 40 points in their previous game. That said, they’ve failed to cover in four of their last five games overall and are winless at 0-5 ATS in their last five neutral site games.

OUR PREDICTION: This is a revenge spot for the Sooners, who lost to the Longhorns last year in an uninspiring performance in the Red River Rivalry. Rest assured Bob Stoops has reminded his squad all week about how Texas was able to pull off the upset and OU should be plenty motivated. The Longhorns gave up 49 points to Oklahoma State last week and have surrendered 47 or more points in three of four games this season. Their defense is dreadful and while their offense remains pretty explosive, it’s going to be difficult for Texas to keep pace with Baker Mayfield and Co. today.
