Pittsburgh vs. Virginia Prediction
Will Pittsburgh be able to go on the road and handle Virginia when the two meet up today at 12:30PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Pittsburgh is favored on the road in this game, as the Panthers are getting odds of -3 points against Virginia. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 61 points. These two have split their last six meetings and Virginia is 3-2-1 against the spread in those six games.
Bet on Pittsburgh vs. Virginia
Pittsburgh is coming off a 37-34 win over Georgia Tech to improve to 4-2 on the season and 1-1 in the ACC. The Panthers are just 1-5 against the spread due to a defense that is really struggling. Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi was known for building up the Michigan State defense for years, but he has work to do at Pitt. The Panthers are giving up 31.5 points and 400.7 yards per game this season. Offensively, the Panthers are now putting up 37.3 points and 430 yards per contest. Leading the offense is its ground game, which is averaging 244.2 yards per game. James Conner has run for 441 yards and five touchdowns to lead the pack while Quadree Henderson has run for 343 yards. QB Nathan Peterman hasn’t been too bad either, as he has thrown for 1,115 yards and nine touchdowns.
Virginia is coming off a 34-20 win at Duke two weeks ago to move to 2-3 on the season and 1-0 in the ACC. The Cavaliers are 3-1-1 against the spread on the year as well. Virginia is giving up 29.8 points and 471.6 yards per game this year on defense. They have really struggled to stop the pass, allowing 309.6 yards per game through the air. On offense, UVA is averaging 27.8 points and 411.2 yards per game. Kurt Benkert has thrown for 1,455 yards and 13 touchdowns to lead the unit while Albert Reid has run for 318 yards and four scores.

I like Pittsburgh on the road in this game. The Panthers are not a great defensive team, but they are facing a Virginia offense that isn’t always the most difficult to stop. However, Virginia is definitely giving up a lot of yards and the Panthers have proven that they can rack up the points. Pitt should continue to use its slew of runners to run right through the Cavaliers.
