Michigan vs. Michigan St. Prediction
No. 2 Michigan may be looking to take years of frustrations out on Michigan State when the two meet today at Noon ET. However, can the Wolverines cover a huge spread?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Michigan is the clear favorite in this game, as the Wolverines are getting odds of -24.5 points against the Spartans. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 53 points. MSU has won seven of the last eight against Michigan and the Spartans have covered the spread in all eight meetings.

Michigan looks pretty tough entering today’s game, as the Wolverines are now 7-0 on the season and 4-0 in the Big Ten. Following a 41-8 win last week over Illinois, Michigan has moved to 4-3 against the spread this season. Michigan has one of the top defensive units in the nation in 2016, as they have allowed just 25 total points in their last four games and are giving up only 10 points and 207 yards per game this season. The offense is putting up 48.7 points and 483 yards on the season, including a 257.1 average in rushing yards. Michigan has a slew of backs that they use, with four having over 330 yards on the year. Wilton Speight has been a great game manager for the Wolverines, throwing for 1,447 yards and 13 touchdowns this season with just two interceptions.
Bet on Michigan vs. Michigan State
Michigan State is a shell of its former self. The Spartans have lost five straight following a 28-17 loss at Maryland last week. MSU is now 2-5 on the season, 0-4 in the Big Ten and 1-6 against the spread. The MSU defense has been a big issue, as the unit is allowing 29.7 points and 388 yards per game, including 162.6 rushing yards per contest. Offensively, MSU is putting up just 23.1 points and 390.3 yards per game. MSU went with Brian Lewerke last week at quarterback, as he threw for 156 yards and 1 INT in the loss to the Terps. He has just 281 passing yards on the season. LJ Scott is the leading rusher for MSU this season with 464 yards and three touchdowns.

Michigan should roll in this one, but there are a few reasons to be concerned. This is just Michigan’s second road game of the season. Now, Michigan did win 78-0 at Rutgers in the other road contest, but the Wolverines still aren’t accustomed to playing in a hostile environment, which this will be. While the Spartans aren’t playing well, you never know if a rivalry game will cause a boost in performance. It is possible, but I think Michigan is really looking to send a message in this game, especially considering how they lost to the Spartans last year. Michigan should win big.
