Michigan State vs. Penn State Pick
After several close calls, there’s just one test left for Michigan State this year in order to win the Big Ten. That test is Penn State, which will host the Spartans at 12:00PM ET on Saturday.
According to latest college football odds, oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made Michigan State a 2-point favorite over Penn State in Week 13. The over/under total for this game is currently 51 points.
The Spartans own a 10-1 record this year and are 6-5 against the spread. They’re 2-1 on the road this year and according to Week 13 college football trends, they’ve covered in two of their three games away from home.
The Nittany Lions are 7-4 this year but have failed to cover in six of their 11 games overall. They’re a stellar 5-1 at home but have only covered in three of six games at Beaver Stadium.
College Football Week 13 Free Pick:
The Spartans needed a fourth quarter rally to beat a bad Purdue team last Saturday and they seem destined to trip up. Penn State certainly isn’t the team it has been over the years, but Happy Valley is always a tough environment to win in. The home team is 9-4 against the spread in the last 13 meetings between these two teams, while the Spartans are just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 meetings with the Lions. They’re also 1-5 against the number in their last six trips to University Park and are 0-3-1 ATS in their last four games in November. Making matters worse is that quarterback Kirk Cousins played on an injured ankle last week and could have more trouble this Saturday. If Penn State wants to find success, however, it needs to get Evan Royster and the running game going early. Our pick is the Nittany Lions plus the points.
