Armed Forces Bowl Prediction
Is Navy a good bet as an underdog against Louisiana Tech in today’s Armed Forces Bowl at 4:30PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Bulldogs are now 7-point favorites over the Midshipmen after opening as a 1-point underdog. The total, meanwhile, is sitting at 68 after opening at 66 points when the bowl lines were first released.

LA TECH KEY TRENDS: The Bulldogs are a perfect 4-0 against the spread in their last four bowl games and are 14-2 against the number in their last 16 games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game. They’ve also covered in six of their last eight games, are 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 non-conference games and are 9-4 at the betting window in their last 13 games coming off a loss.
NAVY KEY TRENDS: The Midshipmen have also been successful in bowl games, going 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 games bowl contests. They’re also 6-1 against the number in their last seven games after scoring less than 20 points in their previous game and have covered in five of their last seven games after allowing less than 170 yards passing in their previous contest.

OUR PREDICTION: Bettors are seemingly all over LA Tech because they watched Navy get crushed by Temple in the American Athletic Conference Championship game and then lose to Army for the first time in 14 years. But both of these teams carry two-game losing streaks entering this game and Navy is still a tough assignment, no matter how many injuries the team is currently battling. There’s little doubt the Bulldogs will score, but they’re also allowing 32.7 points per game. Thus, in what should be a shootout, I like the dog to cover late.
