Miles is in his seventh season with the Tigers and he brings back a total of 15 starters this year form a team that went 11-2 last season and lost both games by a combined 15 points.
According to oddsmakers, LSU has been given 10/1 odds to win the BCS National Championship and 7/1 odds to win the SEC. The Tigers have also been given 2/1 odds to win the SEC West Division and their over/under win total for the season has been set at 9.5.

The LSU offense has been hot and cold through the years. Last year, the Tigers averaged 29.7 points and 341 yards per game. Their passing attack posted just 156 yards per game. Still, receiver Russell Shepard is listed with 50/1 odds to win the Heisman Trophy. Shepard had 33 receptions for 254 yards and one touchdown while also rushing for 226 yards and two scores in 2010. Defensively, LSU will have seven starters back, including five of its back seven. The Tigers allowed just 18.2 points and 307 yards per game in 2010.
LSU has won three national titles in program history, with the last coming in 2007. The Tigers have also won 13 conference titles in program history, the last also coming in 2007. LSU has won at least 10 games in four of the six seasons under Les Miles. This season, LSU opens the season against Oregon in Arlington, Texas and also head to West Virginia in non-conference play. SEC games see LSU hosting Florida and Arkansas while traveling to Alabama, Mississippi State, and Tennessee.
