According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Ole Miss comes into today as the slight favorite, as the Rebels are giving 1 point to the Bulldogs. The over/under total for the game has been set at 64 points. These two meet in the Egg Bowl today at 7:15PM ET on ESPN2.

It’s not just the oddsmakers that are having a hard time with this game, so are the bettors. Currently the public betting for this game is slightly with the Rebels. Ole Miss is getting 55 percent of the wagers with the -1 point against the Bulldogs. It’s easy to see why on paper. Both teams come in with an 8-3 record. Ole Miss is 5-2 in the SEC while Mississippi State is 4-3. The Rebels are 6-5 against the spread while the Bulldogs are 7-4 ATS.

Both teams also have similar numbers on defense, as the Bulldogs are allowing 380.2 yards per game while the Rebels give up 386.2 yards per contest. The difference appears to be on offense as Ole Miss is putting up 40.5 points and 518 yards per game while the Bulldogs are averaging 33.5 points and 455.9 yards per game. Ole Miss has a run game that averages nearly 40 yards more per game than the Bulldogs and the Rebels do it by committee, with five players over 200 yards on the ground this year.
