Aggies back into bowl season
Texas A&M dropped its final two games of the regular season, road games against Georgia and LSU. The Aggies are 7-5 on the season, 7-5 against the spread and 7-5 with the under.
The Aggies are putting up 30 points and 398.8 yards per game on offense this year, but the A&M defense is holding opponents to just 22.7 points and 340.8 yards per contest. Quarterback Kellen Mond has thrown for 2,802 yards and 19 touchdowns to lead the offense. He also has rushed for 383 yards and seven scores. Isaiah Spiller has rushed for 869 yards and nine touchdowns to lead the ground attack. Jhamon Ausbon is the leading receiver with 65 catches for 862 yards and four scores.
Cowboys stuffed by rival
Oklahoma State had won four straight, but the Cowboys lost their season finale to Oklahoma, 34-16. The Cowboys are 8-4 on the season, 8-3-1 against the spread and 7-5 with the under.
Like usual, Oklahoma State is great on offense and suspect on defense this year. The offense is putting up 33.4 points and 463.9 yards per game. Defensively, Oklahoma State is allowing 27.0 points and 418.1 yards per contest. Oklahoma State is led by its running back, Chuba Hubbard, who has rushed for 1,936 yards and 21 touchdowns. Quarterback Spencer Sanders has thrown for 2,065 yards and 16 touchdowns, while rushing for 625 yards and two scores. Sanders is dealing with a thumb injury that has him questionable to play in this game. Leading receiver Tylan Wallace is out with a knee injury. He had 53 catches for 903 yards and eight touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Texas A&M
The Aggies are 16-5-1 against the spread in their last 22 games as a favorite, but just 8-20 ATS in their last 28 games following a loss.
Oklahoma State
The Cowboys are 12-2 against the spread in their last 14 games as an underdog and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games following a loss.
Prediction:
It’s hard to trust Texas A&M, but I think the Aggies will be able to get the job done and cover in this one. Texas A&M has the defense to hold Hubbard intact, especially if Oklahoma State is going to have to go with the backup QB. Oklahoma State’s defense also isn’t great, so the Aggies should see a boost in their offensive production. Being able to score consistently was an issue this season for A&M, but I don’t think it will be an issue tonight.
Texas Bowl Prediction: Texas A&M -5.5
