2016 NFL Draft 4/28/16 Ezekiel Elliott Odds & Predictions

Ezekiel Elliott NFL Draft Prediction

When will Ezekiel Elliott come off the board tonight in the first-round of the 2016 NFL Draft? Read on for our prediction.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Elliott’s over/under is 8.5 for what pick he’ll be selected with tonight. The over has odds of +110, while the under carries odds of -150.

That means if a bettor believes Elliott will still be on the board by selection No. 9 (and thus “over 8.5”), then he or she will win $110.00 for every $100.00 that they wager. If a bettor believes Elliott will be drafted before pick No. 8 (and thus “under 8.5”), then he or she would have to lay $150.00 just to win $100.00.

There’s a reason why the under 8.5 carries the bigger odds investment: Elliott is that good. He’s drawn comparisons this week to Adrian Peterson and is the consensus top running back in this year’s draft class. A true three-down back at the next level, Elliott rushed for 3,961 yards in three seasons with the Ohio State Buckeyes. He rushed for 1,821 yards and 23 touchdowns last year as a junior.

OUR PREDICTION: There’s more value in taking the over but Elliott should come off the board within the first eight picks. In fact, there’s a chance he could be selected as high as No. 4, which the pick currently owned by the running back-needy Cowboys. Last year we saw Todd Gurley get selected by the Rams at No. 10 but had he not torn his ACL months prior to the draft, the former Georgia Bulldog may have gone higher. Elliott, like Gurley, is a complete back. Unlike Gurley, he’s healthy and durable heading into this year’s draft and should be selected somewhere between picks 3 and 8.
